Talentis Newsletter – September Issue

Since we last spoke:

The big update in August was our new Task Dashboard. Users are now able to view all outstanding tasks from the homepage, scroll through profiles, allocate tasks to users or ‘mark as complete’. Thanks for the positive feedback!

You’ll see we’ve also added a new search filter to our enhanced Google X-Ray to allow you to (optionally) prioritise female candidates. We are considering doing more work to support diversity in search so we welcome feedback on this particular area!

We’ve made a number of aesthetic changes to improve screen layouts and have also made updates to our “Similar People” functionality. These are the main visible changes, but under the bonnet, we continue to enhance and improve constantly.

A word about Agile

Talentis is a very modern app, using the latest technology and developed using the latest development methodologies. Our development process is known as “Agile”. Traditionally, businesses would map out a detailed specification for a product before development would begin – developers would then be told to go away and deliver it. This is known as “Waterfall development” and would typically lead to major product releases just once or twice a year.

Talentis uses an Agile methodology. Without going into too much detail, we focus on developing small functionality updates, releasing quickly, taking feedback, and updating fast. The Task management tool is a good example of that – the first release did not include “most recent notes”. We added that. We then added the “pop-up person record”. Users have subsequently asked for filters and we’ll be adding those shortly. This means that feedback really matters to us.

If you like something – tell us. If you don’t – tell us!

Coming soon

Talking of “liking things”…. You’ll like this!

Reporting is one of the most time-consuming processes in recruiting. Whether you wish to produce a report listing and summarising the details of multiple candidates, or a detailed profile of just one,  going from LinkedIn to CRM to Word is often a painful process.

Not anymore.

In the next month or so, you’ll start to see the arrival of our new reporting functionality. We are doing reporting in a way that  – we believe – has not been done before in our sector. It’s unbelievably efficient and – believe it or not – a joy to use. Again, we’ll release on an agile basis, and enhancements will arrive based on your feedback. So, share that feedback!

Also in the pipeline is our new “add new” functionality. We know users love how Talentis can add people from LinkedIn – but don’t like the process associated with adding people who are not on LinkedIn. So, we are changing it. Shortly after that will come our bulk import functionality. Watch this space…

We also continue to work on our data restructuring, and we expect that you’ll start to see the benefits of that work from October. These will include (not necessarily all at once!), additional search filters – years of experience, for example – a “job changers dashboard”, and more detailed profiles inside Talentis to avoid you having to keep leaving the product.

All that and much, much more is coming!

Thank you!

Thanks for your continued support of Talentis. We appreciate it!
