CFS is working with a long-standing client in the Fairfield County area who is seeking a strategic and results-driven Vice President of Financial Planning and Analysis (VP FP&A) to lead our financial planning, forecasting, and analytical efforts. This executive role will play a pivotal part in driving financial performance, informing executive decision-making, and supporting company-wide growth initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic Financial Leadership
    • Lead the FP&A function, providing strategic financial insights to senior leadership and Board of Directors.
    • Partner with the CFO and executive team to develop long-term financial strategies aligned with corporate objectives.
  • Planning & Forecasting
    • Oversee the annual budgeting process, long-range planning, and rolling forecasts.
    • Develop robust financial models, scenario planning tools, and key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Business Performance Analysis
    • Deliver high-impact analysis on business drivers, variances, and profitability.
    • Provide timely reporting and insight into financial and operational performance across business units.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration
    • Act as a strategic advisor to department heads, supporting data-driven decision-making and resource allocation.
    • Collaborate with Accounting, Operations, and Strategy teams to ensure alignment and accurate reporting.
  • Team Leadership
    • Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing FP&A team.
    • Promote a culture of financial accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement.
  • Investor & Board Support
    • Support investor relations through financial analysis, investor materials, and quarterly earnings prep.
    • Prepare presentations and financial materials for executive and board meetings.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field (MBA or CPA preferred)
  • 10+ years of progressive finance experience, including leadership roles in FP&A
  • Proven track record of driving financial performance in a complex or high-growth environment
  • Deep understanding of financial modeling, business analytics, and corporate finance
  • Strong executive presence with excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Advanced proficiency in financial systems (e.g., Adaptive Insights, Anaplan, NetSuite, etc.) and Excel

Preferred Attributes

  • Experience in [industry-specific, e.g., SaaS, manufacturing, healthcare, etc.]
  • Comfort working in both private and public company settings
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
