Job Overview

As a VP. of Acquisitions and Asset Management, you will be responsible for sourcing and structuring new deals as well as overseeing the performance and operation of the company’s existing assets in the region.

This role involves strategic planning, financial analysis, market research, and overseeing operational performance of the portfolio. The VP will lead the full lifecycle of real estate investments, from sourcing and acquiring new properties to managing and optimizing the performance of existing assets.

Essential Job Functions

Transactions :

  • Identifying and evaluating potential acquisitions: This includes market analysis, financial modeling, and due diligence of potential assets.
  • Leading underwriting and financial analysis using excel and Argus to assess deal viability and project returns.
  • Managing due diligence processes including property inspections, third party reports, zoning, title, technical and environmental reviews.
  • Negotiating and structuring real estate transactions: This involves securing favorable terms for purchase agreements, financing, and joint ventures.
  • Building and maintaining relationships with industry professionals: This includes brokers, investors, and developers.

Investment Management

  • Developing and executing business plans for each asset, including leasing strategies, repositioning and disposition timelines.
  • Developing and implementing asset management strategies: This involves creating plans to enhance property performance, including tenant engagement, branding, and capital improvements.
  • Overseeing operational and financial performance of a diverse real estate portfolio.
  • Leading quarterly reporting and valuation updates for internal stakeholders and investors.
  • Overseeing capital allocation and budgeting: This includes managing the allocation of funds for repairs, renovations, and other capital expenditure projects.

Qualifications

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree: Preferably in Finance, Real Estate, Business, or related field. A Master´s degree is preferred but not required
  • Extensive experience: Typically, 8-12+ years in real estate investments, including acquisitions and asset management, or development. Experience in Latin America is preferred, especially in Chile and Mexico
  • Industry knowledge: Deep understanding of the real estate market, including investment strategies, property types, and financing options.
  • Strong leadership, negotiation and project management skills.
  • Ability to travel for site visits, due diligence and relationship management.
  • Leadership and team management skills: Ability to lead and motivate a team of professionals.
