Job Summary
The Vice President, Business Events will lead the development and execution of Brand USA’s international inbound strategy to position the United States as a premier destination for business events, including meetings, conferences, and incentive travel. This role requires a visionary leader with extensive experience in international sales and marketing and a proven track record of cultivating high-value partnerships. The Vice President, Business Events will focus on amplifying the visibility of U.S. destinations, hotels, venues, and suppliers already active in the international business events marketplace, while also developing customized and cost-effective programs to support new entrants. Additionally, the Vice President, Business Events will create resources to showcase America’s inspiring rural and beyond-the-ordinary destinations, highlighting unique assets for incentive travel and technical tours. Collaborating with stakeholders across the corporate travel, meetings, and events industries—including organizers of sporting events ranging from amateur competitions to professional leagues, the World Cup, and the Olympics—the Vice President will drive initiatives that strengthen Brand USA’s competitive edge in the global business events sector while fostering strategic innovation and nationwide engagement.
Essential Functions
- Develop and implement a comprehensive strategy to grow the U.S. footprint in the international business events marketplace, collaborating with destinations, hotels, event venues, and corporate stakeholders.
- Identify and engage a Business Events advisory group representing the diversity of America’s destinations and products.
- Facilitate client advisory groups of international association planners, third-party planners, and event organizers to refine sales and marketing outreach.
- Build strategic relationships with global event organizers and media companies to design impactful joint initiatives and drive sales efforts.
- Lead integrated sales and marketing efforts, including multi-channel campaigns targeting corporate planners, association planners, third-party planners, and event organizers.
- Work across departments to establish co-op marketing programs to maximize partner participation.
- Oversee the creation of innovative programs to attract business events and incentive travel, including trade shows, sales missions, client events, educational trips, and technical tours.
- Provide tools, resources, and training to support partners entering or growing their presence in the international business events market.
- Set benchmarks and KPIs to measure initiative success, refine strategies using analytics, and represent Brand USA at global industry events.
- Report to work on a regular basis and is available for occasional after-hours emergency calls and projects.

Job Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, hospitality management, or related field; advanced degree preferred.
- 10+ years of combined experience in international business events, incentive travel, and strategic marketing.
- Proven ability to execute marketing campaigns that drive measurable outcomes and build high-value partnerships.
- Deep understanding of the international business events market, including trends and opportunities in emerging and niche sectors.
- Experience handling business dealings with a diverse network of international clients and partners.
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Dedicated remote work area that is quiet enough for the employee to concentrate is required. Must have homeowner’s or renter’s insurance and the ability to comply with company technology, safety, and health requirements.
- Ability to travel on occasion as required to attend meetings and/or events.
- Ability to frequently operate a computer and other office productivity machinery.
- Ability to lift up to twenty (20) pounds.
- Ability to perform the essential functions with or without a reasonable accommodation.

Schedule
Brand USA’s business hours are Monday through Friday, from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Our standard work hours may vary based upon position requirements. Additional hours may be required during peak times, which may require an adjusted work schedule, overtime, and evening/weekend hours in order to meet deadlines.
