Summary

The Senior Vice President Finance Operations is responsible for all finance activity at the MetroHealth System reporting to the Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer. Partners with the MetroHealth COO and Physician Executive plus works with and supports MetroHealth senior leadership team to develop, implement, and manage strategies to ensure ongoing financial success. Responsible for the strategic development, operational activities, clinical quality, and financial results of areas of accountability which include the Supply Chain Management, Physician Compensation, Financial Planning and Analysis, and Accounting Operations. Upholds the mission, vision, values, and customer services standards of The MetroHealth System.

Qualifications

Required: Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Financial, or Accounting. Ten years progressive experience in accounting or finance to include managerial accounting, healthcare financial management, medical group practice management, decision support systems, business planning, and mathematical analysis of business problems. Seven to ten years supervisory experience in an accounting/financial capacity. Ability to develop financial and other operational systems to accurately report and control System financial activities. Must understand and be able to make decisions regarding computer hardware and software capabilities. Possess excellent oral and written communication skills and be able to communicate effectively with all levels of management and interpret and explain financial data to management and the Board of Trustees. Possesses a track record which demonstrates the ability to foster a cooperative work environment via a leadership/partnership style which is characterized by the following:

• establishing internal credibility with Senior Management and peer leaders;
• understanding day to day operations and add value to establishing business targets and metrics;
• prioritizing reporting and analysis objectives and provide discipline to the implementation and reporting process. A compelling background as a financial leader with a successive growth record who demonstrates the ability to compile, analyze, interpret, and present complex annual financial reports, statements and /or projections. A track record of success demonstrating the ability to drive initiatives and achieve goals within a matrix environment. The capacity for success in the matrix environment will also be complemented by a leadership style that includes effective collaboration, influencing and negotiating skills.   Preferred: Master’s degree in business administration, Finance, or Accounting. CPA certification. Physical Demands: May need to move around intermittently during the day, including sitting, standing, stooping, bending, and ambulating. May need to remain still for extended periods, including sitting and standing. Ability to communicate in face-to-face, phone, email, and other communications. Ability to read job related documents. Ability to use computer.
