Sr. Manager/Director, Facilities

Amkor Technology Arizona is seeking a Facilities Manager/Director with extensive experience in facilities management for construction projects and factory operations. The ideal candidate will be adept at identifying and adhering to industry standards, laws, and regulations. A PMP (Project Management Professional) certification is preferred. This role supports Amkor’s new Outsourced Semiconductor Assembly and Test (OSAT) factory/site in Peoria, AZ.

  • Coordinate construction project schedules and prepare detailed progress charts.
  • Evaluate and review project budgets and manage costs effectively.
  • Ensure compliance with construction quality and specifications.
  • Review the adequacy of safety management practices at construction sites and maintain responsibility to ensure safe site management.
  • Lead/Manage legal compliance and permitting for construction projects.
  • Oversee construction project schedules and progress based on CSA and MEP knowledge.
  • Assess and manage personnel and equipment allocation at construction site.
  • Establish risk management plans for construction projects.
  • Understand the characteristics of a semiconductor company and develop maintenance management plans for 24/7 semiconductor operations.
  • Ensure legal compliance for factory operations and liaise with government agencies to ensure factory operations are not affected.
  • Establish inspection plans necessary for plant operations and manage the preparation and storage of documentation.
  • Record, analyze, and manage energy consumption for efficient factory operations.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Electrical or Mechanical); Technical College or Trade Program preferred.
  • Relevant discipline certifications preferred.
  • At least 10 years of experience in design and construction project management.
  • Expertise in construction technology, mechanical systems, fire safety, and environmental management.
  • Effective inventory management of consumable materials required for factory operations.
  • Proven leadership experience in talent development and team management in a diverse environment.
  • Strong negotiation and vendor evaluation skills.
  • Ability to communicate and negotiate with government agencies.
  • In-depth knowledge of safety regulations for construction sites.
  • Strong team-building, analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to recommend improvements in work methods, safety, materials, and tools.
  • Duties will include all other directions of supervision that can safely be performed by the incumbent.

Physical Requirements:

  • Exposure to industrial chemical smells and sounds from power tools and equipment.

  • Experience in facility management and maintenance of semiconductor or advanced manufacturing facilities is preferred.
  • Experience managing cleanroom utility equipment, facility optimization, energy-saving planning, and utility operations is desired.
  • Experience in legal appointments and licensing related to trade-specific management is preferred.
