The Opportunity

Are you an expert with guiding a large and sophisticated security engineering team for a SaaS organization? Do you have experience leading a global and multi-disciplinary organization focused on software development and operations and improving the organization security posture? We’re looking for you to join Adobe as our Senior Director, Security Engineering.

In this role, which reports directly to the Vice President of Cyber Operations, you’ll lead a global Security Engineering organization, which partners with product development & operations teams, our core infrastructure teams, our architecture teams, our privacy office and cyber legal team. In addition, you’ll build tight partnerships with the leadership across all of Adobe to achieve your goals. Your team will get to partner with engineering leaders across our complete spectrum of products.

What You’ll Do

Manage a global team of engineers towards innovation, partnership, collaboration, and operational excellence. Adobe is constantly innovating and threat actors targeting Adobe are also innovating as well. You will constantly challenge the status quo and ensure that new and innovative solutions are developed and operated to meet the business requirements of today and into the future. This role will ensure that our security services not only fix immediate tactical issues but align Adobe solutions towards delivering long-term strategic and sustainable real security value. This will be a highly collaborative position driving and owning relationships within Adobe at all levels and external to Adobe. It is expected that you will operate independently and build confidence with technology, business, and product executives across Adobe. You will lead an organization that owns and drives security outcomes across a global team of engineers.

Develop a high-performing organization that will deliver and operate security services across Adobe including:

  • Security Engineering Services
    • Vulnerability, configuration, and security posture assessment tooling
    • Security monitoring & response development services
    • Build security software tools and solutions that support partner teams
  • Security Data Services
    • Logging collection & curation
    • Data Lake Platform / Databricks
    • AI/ML Data Services
    • Security Information and Event Management (SIEM)
  • Security Platform Services
    • Enterprise Detection & Response (EDR) Platform
    • Cloud Security Posture Management (CSPM) Platform
  • Cloud Infrastructure Security
    • Manage our current day cloud security needs and partner with other organizations such as Security Architecture to define and refine our cloud security strategy
    • Ensure the security of Adobe’s public and private cloud through understanding its security weaknesses, identifying, and implementing appropriate mitigations
    • Ensure there are proper guardrails so that the cloud cannot be used in a way that violates Adobe’s security requirements

Partner within the security team and across Adobe to own specific security outcomes and help drive overall security posture improvements.

  • Customer first and partnership mentality
  • Constantly evolving service catalog to own security outcomes and drive down security risk
  • Optimize built in house capabilities and commercial solutions
  • Presenting the right information at the right level and helping to drive overall product security improvements
  • Help develop the roadmap of security features across all of Adobe’s products
  • Grow and hire the strongest security talent in the industry
  • Take an adversary perspective on how our products & services can be misused and identify & recommend reasonable countermeasures for the next generation of security threats.

What you’ll need to succeed

  • 13+ years in Information Security, most of which in a complex, global organization
  • 8+ years of progressive leadership experience in leading engineering teams
  • 3+ years in developing and managing global engineering teams
  • Master’s degree or equivalent experience
  • Ability to build strong rapport with business leaders, engineering leaders and customers
  • Be an expert on product security, and be able to explain technical concepts in understandable ways to business leadership and our customers
  • Successful track record of developing and operating complex security services across a large organization
  • Successful track record growing talent and building high performing security teams
  • Strong problem-solving skills, analytical capability and a pragmatic approach to business
  • Strong communications skills
  • Comfort with ambiguity

The U.S. pay range for this position is $184,500 — $392,700 annually. Pay within this range varies by work location and may also depend on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. At Adobe, for sales roles starting salaries are expressed as total target compensation (TTC = base + commission), and short-term incentives are in the form of sales commission plans. Non-sales roles starting salaries are expressed as base salary and short-term incentives are in the form of the Annual Incentive Plan (AIP).

In addition, certain roles may be eligible for long-term incentives in the form of a new hire equity award.
