At WSP Middle East, The Senior Technical Director – Building Services is a key role in driving excellence across people management, project delivery, operational performance, client engagement, and strategic growth. Leading a regional team of over 100 professionals, the role focuses on fostering development, delivering innovative and sustainable engineering solutions, and ensuring operational efficiency. With a strong emphasis on client relationships and alignment with regional and global strategies, the role aims to enhance service offerings, secure key projects, and promote collaboration across business units, embodying the “One WSP” vision.

Your new role, what’s involved?

• People Leadership:
  • Responsible for a regional team in excess of 100 people – mentoring, development, CPD, and progression planning with a focus on retention, engagement, nationalisation, and diversity.
• Project Delivery:
  • Provide guidance to the teams in delivering high quality, innovative, market leading, bespoke and sustainable engineering solutions to our Clients
  • Ensuring lessons learned from projects are captured and communicated across the various delivery teams
  • Ensure deliverables are high quality and consistent with our brand expectations
  • Ensure that Health & Safety is embedded into all work practices in line with company policies
• Operational Excellence:
  • Work closely with the Discipline Director and Sub-Team Leaders to manage and report on the discipline’s commercials
  • Focus on key metrics – revenue, cash collection, utilization in line with the BU’s target aspirations
  • Seek opportunities for enhancements in our ways of working, challenge the status quo by leveraging digital / innovative tools and processes
  • Focus on inter-BU and inter-region engagement to enhance collaboration and knowledge sharing
• Client Portfolio Management:
  • Working with Client Account Leads across the business to enhance Client Engagement throughout the project life cycle
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with Clients and stakeholders in the region
  • Effectively track and act upon, Client Feedback throughout the project life cycle
• Strategy & Work Winning:
  • Understand the regional and global business strategy and reflect that in the discipline specific strategy – right projects for the right clients in the right geographies!
  • Diversity in Offering – Seeking out opportunities to develop new service lines, drive Regional and Sector Focus
  • Prospect Leadership of single-disciplinary or large multi-disciplinary opportunities driving a strong technical approach through the delivery of our tender and carrying that through into project set-up.
• One WSP – Driving a ‘One WSP’ approach through all activities by understanding our business, capabilities and strategies, and enhancing cross-BU engagement

We’d love to hear from you if you have:

• A degree in engineering or a closely related field. Plus 18 years of experience in our industry.
• Preferably already have a strong network in the Middle East and / or the Built Environment.
• Strong communication abilities, able to articulate complex ideas in a creative manner and able to influence or persuade others.
• Demonstrated experience of leadership, personal accountability, persistent and goal-oriented
• Strong business acumen with an aptitude for improving processes with a commitment to internal and external client service.
• Ability to travel, as needed.
• Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.
• Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies.
