The Salesforce Competitive Intelligence team is seeking a dynamic and strategic leader to fill the role of Sr. Director, Competitive Intelligence. This individual will lead a team of 7 professionals dedicated to providing critical competitive insights that drive the strategy and success of our Operating Units (OUs) through comprehensive deal support, innovative programs, and strategic initiatives. The ideal candidate will seamlessly navigate between high-level strategic planning and hands-on execution, ensuring Salesforce maintains its competitive edge in the market.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement a comprehensive competitive intelligence strategy that aligns with the supported OU’s overarching business objectives. Identify gaps / opportunities any recommend actions to sales leaders, set up plans and drive actions.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Cultivate strong relationships with cross-functional teams (sales programs, sales strategy, enablement, marketing) to understand their needs and deliver actionable competitive insights.
  • Team Management: Lead, mentor, and inspire a team of seven competitive intelligence professionals, fostering a culture of curiosity, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Competitive Analysis: Oversee the collection, analysis, and dissemination of competitive intelligence to inform strategic decision-making and enhance Salesforce’s market positioning. Stay attuned to market signals, including competitor messaging and industry trends, to proactively identify opportunities and threats.
  • Program & Activation Development: In partnership with your team, design and execute scalable programs and initiatives that equip sales teams with the knowledge and tools necessary to succeed in competitive deals. Ensure the development and delivery of targeted enablement sessions, arming the Sales BUs with effective competitive strategies and tactics.

Required Skills And Qualifications

  • Management Experience: 5+ years managing teams.
  • Communication Skills: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly and persuasively to senior stakeholders.
  • Leadership Abilities: Proven experience in leading and developing high-performing teams, with strong networking and relationship-building capabilities. Proven experience interacting with senior executives.
  • Analytical Thinking: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen ability to interpret complex data and translate findings into actionable strategies.
  • Adaptability: Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, managing multiple priorities and stakeholders effectively.
  • Technical Proficiency: Deep understanding of Salesforce’s product offerings and sales processes.

Education And Experience

  • Experience: A minimum of 10 years of experience in the high-tech sector (CRM/SaaS preferred).
  • Technical Experience: At least 5 years experience in technical pre-sales roles (Solution Engineering, Technical or Enterprise Architect) or Competitive Intelligence.
  • Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Computer Science, Information Management, or a related field.
