Marsh is currently seeking a dynamic Principal, Business Development, with a strong focus on client management and business development. Based in our Sydney office, this is an exciting opportunity for an experienced professional to join our Surety Practice and be a key member of our team.

We will count on you to:

  • Manage a portfolio of accounts, ensuring high-quality customer service is provided at all times.
  • Lead, plan, and implement clear and effective strategies to meet client expectations and to grow your client portfolio.
  • Possess a thorough understanding of clients’ businesses, risk management, and financial needs.
  • Have an enquiring and flexible mindset to solving client needs.
  • Work with the Team Leader to prepare, manage, implement and achieve business plans, strategies and goals.
  • Represent and uphold MMCs values to clients, colleagues and key counterparties.
  • Contribute to the company’s profit objectives by effectively managing revenue and expense budgets.

What we’re looking for:

  • 6+ years experience in managing a portfolio of mid-large corporate clients, creating and converting new business and growth opportunities.
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications with a strong understanding of business, finance, accounting and ideally bank guarantees and surety bonds.
  • Sound business acumen, including a well-rounded knowledge of key macro factors affecting companies and the sectors they operate in
  • Proven or developing business development capability.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact at all levels of client organizations, including the C-suite, as well as internal Marsh stakeholders.
