This is an exciting opportunity to join Hyundai Capital Australia (HCAU) during our foundational stages! HCAU is currently the consulting entity of Hyundai Capital Services Korea within Australia. We’re in the process of establishing a subsidiary in Australia to provide captive-finance services to Hyundai Motor Group (HMG). HMG is Korea’s 2nd largest conglomerate focusing on automobiles, auto parts, finance and more.

Hyundai Capital is the financial arm of HMG and the primary goal of its overseas branches is to increase vehicle sales by providing a full spectrum of financial services. We’re currently hiring our first Internal Audit Director to act as the local representative of our Global Audit Team who’ll support this position. In this role you’ll be responsible for the design and implementation of HCAU’s audit planning strategy. This is a stand-alone role in a greenfield environment reporting directly to our CEO. As such, there is huge opportunity to have real impact on our business as the first person driving this stream of work in our new Internal Audit function!

What you’ll do:

• Collaborate closely with our HQ’s Global Audit Team to address requests and execute all aspects of compliance, financial and operational audits and/or projects.
• Facilitate and oversee the development, implementation and maintenance and use of automated audit flow and/or use of an audit analytical system.
• Facilitates external audits, regulatory examinations and/or HQ requests and review engagements.
• Lead audit planning and strategy, including the development of the annual audit plan to align with corporate goals and initiatives.
• Implement audit risk assessment strategy and framework while providing strategic/tactical guidance for planning methodology of key initiatives.
• Identify key business risks and controls, design/implement testing strategies and evaluation to identify control gaps.
• Report audit issues based on significance, risk and impact along with recommendations to address control gaps.
• Oversee the Audit Committee, executive management reporting and other presentations as requested.
• Facilitate the development, implementation and maintenance of automated audit flows, continuous monitoring and use of an audit analytical system.

Your skills & experience:

• Strong demonstrated leadership skills, serving as a source of knowledge for a wide range of stakeholders.
• Advanced and comprehensive understanding of captive finance operations and/or related financial industry experience.
• Demonstrated previous experience working with Internal Audit standards and risk assessment.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to effectively present information to cross-functional stakeholders of all levels.
• SQL fluency and/or experience in data extraction and analysis of information using MS Excel as well.
• Flexible, adaptable and comfortable operating in a fast paced ambiguous environment.
• Proficient knowledge and experience of specialized audit software and systems.
• Self-directed and results-oriented with strong organizational/time management skills.
• Professional audit experience in a corporate setting, ideally with 10+ years of experience.
