How will I help?

The Cyber Purple Team Principal Consultant as an individual contributor will play a crucial role in enhancing an organization’s cybersecurity posture by integrating offensive (red team), defensive (blue team) activities and remediation activities. This role focuses on hands-on technical expertise and stakeholder engagement, driving forward comprehensive cybersecurity strategies and initiatives.

This role may involve working in an office setting or remotely, with occasional travel to client sites or company locations as needed. Flexibility in working hours may be required to respond to security incidents or perform critical activities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Red and Blue Team Integration: Collaborate closely with red and blue team members to design and execute integrated testing and defence strategies, ensuring a cohesive approach to threat detection and mitigation.
  • Continuous Improvement: Assist continuous improvement initiatives, leveraging feedback from security tests and incident responses to strengthen security practices.
  • Security Tool Strategy Development: Provide guidance on better usage toolset to enhance the effectiveness of both offensive and defensive operations.
  • Research and Development: Stay updated on the latest cybersecurity trends, threats, and technologies, applying this knowledge to improve security practices and tools.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Communicate complex technical concepts and findings to stakeholders, providing clear and actionable insights.

What do I need?

To be successful in this role, you need to have the following skills, education & personal attributes:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Security, or equivalent industry experience. Advanced certifications (CISSP, CEH, OSCP, etc.) are highly valued.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5-7 years in cybersecurity, with experience in both offensive and defensive team roles.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical skills to identify and address complex security issues.
  • Communication Skills: Effective written and verbal communication skills, capable of explaining technical details to diverse audiences.

  • Technical Expertise: Demonstrated proficiency in cybersecurity tools, techniques, and methodologies.
  • Problem-Solving: Strong problem-solving abilities, capable of developing innovative solutions to complex security challenges.
  • Collaboration: Ability to work effectively with red and blue team members and other stakeholders.
  • Continuous Learning: Commitment to staying current with emerging threats and technologies.
  • Ethical Conduct: Strong ethical standards and integrity in handling sensitive security matters.
