Human Resources Director (5+ years of human resources exp. req.) Description

Our client, Lancer Transportation & Logistics, is looking for an HR Director to join their Team in Springfield, MA. Whether you’ve led an HR department before or are looking to take the next step in your career, this is a great fit for someone who wants to act as the heartbeat of an organization while overseeing both short and long-term people management initiatives. You’ll be taking over from their HR Leader who has been with them for almost 15 years. In that time, she’s cultivated such a genuine, warm, and operationally effective culture that has resulted in unbelievable retention (12 years is their employee average with almost 100 employees!). If you pride yourself on your ability to balance patience and approachability with tactical execution, don’t miss your chance to be a key piece in our client’s future. After all, this is a rare opportunity in HR where there are no cultural pain points to address. That’s not to say you won’t play an integral role in continuous improvement. For example, you’ll be tasked with creating better documentation while automating more labor-intensive processes such as talent acquisition and onboarding. Human Resources Director (5+ years of human resources exp. req.) Responsibilities

  • Manage the full lifecycle of HR, including recruiting and compliance
  • Serve as the sole HR contributor with oversight of one direct report (Safety Manager)
  • Handle employee concerns autonomously and guide managers through resolution
  • Conduct all investigations and ensure employee records are maintained
  • Oversee all benefit insurance renewals including employee and commercial vendors
  • Plan company retreats and strategize opportunities to enhance employee experience
  • Harness technology to automate recruitment and new hire orientation
  • Maintain compliance with all federal and state regulations
  • Guide the leadership team on people strategy and development efforts
  • Create an open-door, approachable management style to employees
  • Promote a service-minded culture of collaboration and cohesion

Human Resources Director (5+ years of human resources exp. req.) Qualifications

  • 5+ years of full-cycle human resources experience required
  • Background leading employee investigations required
  • Benefits administration experience required
  • Talent acquisition experience required
