About the role 

Sportsbet is the market leader for online sports and racing wagering in Australia, and is one of 4 international divisions within Flutter Entertainment, a publicly listed FTSE100 and NYSE company. 

Sportsbet operates in a dynamic and competitive Australian market, with strong regulatory oversight. It is a digital-native, technology-led business looking to ‘bring excitement to life’ for its customers at the intersection of entertainment, sport and wagering. 

This senior role will be focused on framing and delivering strategic projects addressing the most important business challenges at Sportsbet. 

Responsibilities include: 

• Lead the team solving the most pressing and challenging strategic projects at Sportsbet, that are core to the CEO’s agenda 

• Influence CEO, LT, ELT to drive toward decisions and outcomes 

• Own the framing, approach, ‘answer,’ and alignment for the most challenging problems 

• Provide thought leadership on best approaches to solve problems, including both quantitative and qualitative methods 

• Stand up project: define workplan, resources required, governance model, etc 

• Lead cross-functional project teams (e.g. strategy, commercial analytics, finance, tech, product) 

• Deliver practical and impactful solutions with buy-in from across the organization 

• Provide coaching to strategy team members (1-2 direct reports) 

• Be part of a tight nit strategy team with former senior MBB leadership 

About You 

• Strategy consulting background (preferably top-tier, with 4-7 years experience) 

• Experience leading teams (e.g. 4-8 dedicated team members) 

• Strategy development – strong experience in corporate and business unit strategy development (e.g. ambition, where to play, how to win) 

• Analytical skills – proficiency in analysing data to draw out key insights in support of strategy agenda 

• Financial and commercial acumen – solid financial toolkit (incl. P&L and balance sheet management) 

• Undergraduate degree (e.g. Commerce, Engineering, Law, Science) – top of class  

• MBA (beneficial, not required)
