Job Summary

  • Responsible for Servicing & Transacting operations for – Private Banking Loans, Payments, Credit documentations, Reconciliation Governance and Data / MI
  • Accountable – for all decisions and ownerships of activities/tasks that are covered under Responsible.
  • Consulted – through business, product, Digital team engagements for providing relevant inputs and support to drive overall CPBB, SG agenda relevant to areas under “Responsible”
  • Informed – through business, product, Digital team engagements for providing relevant inputs and support to drive overall CPBB, SG agenda relevant to areas under “Responsible

Key Responsibilities

Strategy

  • Responsible to deliver overall PVB SnT Operations Strategy through agreed KPI / OKRs from time to time relevant to processes under the Role holder’s portfolio.

Business

  • To support, collaborate with PVB – Client Experience, Credit Risk teams to deliver agreed business objectives / OKRs relevant to PVB Operations

Processes

  • Overall responsibility for “Transaction Processing” of all activities related to Private Banking Loans, Payments, Credit documentations and all relevant Financial Reconciliations for CPBB SnT Operations.
  • To drive culture of continuous innovation and improving process and people efficiencies through systematic prioritization and digitization efforts of manual tasks.

People and Talent

  • Lead through example and build the appropriate culture and values. Set appropriate tone and expectations from their team and work in collaboration with risk and control partners.
  • Ensure the provision of ongoing training and development of people and ensure that holders of all critical functions are suitably skilled and qualified for their roles ensuring that they have effective supervision in place to mitigate any risks.
  • Employ, engage and retain high quality people, with succession planning for critical roles.
  • Responsibility to review team structure/capacity plans.
  • Set and monitor job descriptions and objectives for direct reports and provide feedback and rewards in line with their performance against those responsibilities and objectives.

Risk Management

  • Responsible for pro active identifying, assessing, monitoring, controlling and mitigating risks to the Group, as well as an awareness and understanding of the main risks facing the Group relevant to areas and processes as stated under responsible for. .

Governance

  • To deliver effective governance, oversight and controls in the operations including outsourced activities covering Internal and External Outsourcing. To oversee changes in these areas; Awareness and understanding of the regulatory framework, in which the Group operates, and the regulatory requirements and expectations relevant to the role.

Regulatory and Business Conduct

  • Display exemplary conduct and live by the Group’s Values and Code of Conduct.
  • Take personal responsibility for embedding the highest standards of ethics, including regulatory and business conduct, across Standard Chartered Bank. This includes understanding and ensuring compliance with, in letter and spirit, all applicable laws, regulations, guidelines and the Group Code of Conduct.
  • Lead the PVB SnT Ops team to achieve the outcomes set out in the Bank’s Conduct Principles.
  • Effectively and collaboratively identify, escalate, mitigate and resolve risk, conduct and compliance matters.

Our Ideal Candidate

  • 10+ years of relevant experience in Private Banking domain
  • Strong financial services experience
  • Strong operational risk & change management experience
