Glitch Productions is an independent animation studio based in Australia making original, long form animated shows distributed on Youtube. Our channel has over 12 million subscribers, tens of millions of views per episode and is still growing strong. Our studio is filled with incredibly talented and passionate artists that are determined to change the way animation is produced and treated in the industry. Our latest IP; Digital Circus, has amassed over 300 million views on the pilot alone and we have a lot more still to come.

Role Information: 

Glitch Productions is looking for an experienced and highly skilled Head of Production who will oversee all of our 2D and 3D productions. You would be supervising and working closely with the 3D and 2D Line Producers to plan, budget, schedule, manage and build teams to ensure all our shows are created on budget and on schedule while facilitating and leading with Glitch’s core values.

Your duties and responsibilities will include:

Production Oversight

• Supervise up to 5 concurrent 2D and 3D productions, manage directors and producers to ensure productions run smoothly and on schedule.

Creative Oversight & Collaboration

• Work with creative leadership to align production with artistic vision.

Team Management & Structure

• Build, structure and effectively implement entire production teams based around our existing pipelines and show needs.
• Oversee team capacity, assign resources effectively, and ensure smooth asset delivery.
• Support and mentor studio leadership to foster strong communication, reliability and team management.
• Facilitate and create a friendly, healthy and reliable work culture that adheres to our core values.

Budgeting & Scheduling 

• Budget, schedule and plan the production of multiple animated series with producers.
• Enhance budget management, optimise efficiencies and negotiate contracts.

Process & Pipeline Improvement

• Improve and iterate on our entire studio infrastructure from a people and pipeline perspective.
• Continuously refine workflows for increased efficiency and scalability.

Technology & Innovation

• Collaborate with technical teams to improve production pipelines and explore animation software advancements, including Unreal Engine.
• Work with operation departments to roll out new systems and pipelines.

Vendor & Partner Management

• Identify and establish relationships with external studios, freelancers and outsourced teams, making key decisions on collaboration to best support production needs.

A successful candidate will have:

• +10 years of Line Producing or higher role
• Experience managing and producing both 3D and 2D productions in the style and/or complexity of Glitch’s existing 3D/2D shows (Murder Drones, The Amazing Digital Circus, Knights of Guinevere).
• Experience building entire 2D and 3D production teams.
• Experience budgeting, planning and scheduling out multiple shows being produced concurrently.
• Strong senior leadership and management skills.
• Strong decision making skills and critical thinking particularly surrounding producing animated shows and running animation crews.
• Strong communication skills.
