Head of International Business Development

Job Summary

A recruiter is seeking a Head of International Business Development who will contribute to the organization’s success by developing new international business partnerships and other investment opportunities which support organization’s growth, ownership and profitability strategies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Leads in the processes for new market transactions with potential new international retail and non-retail partners. Jointly leads with regional senior management team on potential partner selection, manages site visits, negotiation strategies and decision-making process
  • Supports key strategic development projects, including leading market research and business intelligence activities, including preparation of competitive analysis reporting
  • Leads in the strategic evaluation and financial valuation work, price proposal and internal approval process. Highlights market opportunity and risks to senior management and recommends appropriate courses of action and related contingency plans
  • Manages communication, coordination and alignment with regional cross function teams and other key project stakeholders. Acts as the key commercial and strategic advisor to senior management on active negotiation strategies
  • Manages cross functional project teams to execute transactions, including agreements and contract negotiations, due diligence investigations, structuring and closing. Initiates and supports business integration phase where appropriate
  • Develops strategic and operational plans, manages execution and measures progress. Plans and manages business unit/work groups to ensure alignment with organization’s objectives

Job Requirements

  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience in business development, investment analysis, valuation and financial modeling
  • Multi-project management and cross border transactions
  • Transactions, structuring, due diligence, joint ventures, strategic alliances, mergers and acquisitions and licensing experience
  • Strong networking skills
  • Prepared to travel

  • Ability to adapt knowledge and experience to local environments. Ability to communicate and build relationships across differing cultures
