Commercial Banking – Global Payments Solutions
Hang Seng’s Global Payments Solutions (“GPS”) offers a comprehensive range of cash management services from account and deposit management, payments and remittance, collection and receivable services, liquidity management and electronic channel solutions to our corporate and commercial banking customers. We provide tailored solutions to our corporate banking customers as well as efficient plug-and-use services to our business banking customers. We are responsible to drive the liabilities growth of Commercial and Global Banking segments through the provision of leading class cash management solutions to them. We are also steering the transaction banking FX growth for the bank as well. We focus on our customer needs in Greater China and aim to be the one-stop cash management partner to our customers across mainland China and Hong Kong.
We are currently seeking a high caliber professional to join our department as Head of Business Management & Risk Control, Global Payments Solutions
Overview
The role is responsible for supervising a team of GPS Business Management Managers and Business Risk & Control Managers to lead business management and financial reporting, business risk control as well as to drive special strategic projects and transformation.
Principal responsibilities
Business Management
- Manage the financial forecasting, expenses management and related financial management function of GPS
- Coordinate all GPS governance meetings and manage all related reporting and follow up
- Lead and manage the GPS related regulatory reporting by working together with Finance team
- Represent GPS to provide business management input to other HASE and Group vertical stakeholders
Business Risk and Control Management
- Promote, support and ensure GPS owns its risk and controls as the First Line of defense to Operational Risk
- Support business to identify its key risks and ensure that relevant controls are in place to mitigate these risks
- Conduct risk and control assessments, develop and implement Internal Control Monitoring Plan, perform control tests and ongoing monitoring
- Compile risk management reports to facilitate the oversight by Head of GPS as Operational Risk Controller;
- Ensure that control deficiencies / needs-improvement issues are escalated and addressed in a timely manner
- Coordinate on behalf of GPS with other monitoring and review functions such as Internal Audit, second line of review or external reviewers;
Strategic Planning and Transformation
- Lead and coordinate all management presentation and business review preparation for Head of GPS
- Lead strategic projects for Head of GPS including business collaboration with WPB, Innovation Partnership
- Lead the cross-team GPS data-driven initiatives and collaboration with WCOO-SPM team
- Assist Head of GPS to coordinate staff engagement activities and other cross-team collaboration initiatives.
Requirements:

University degree in finance, Business Administration, Risk Management, IT or a related discipline OR other relevant qualifications

Minimum of 10 years’ experience in transaction banking and/or commercial banking in with good knowledge of business management, operational risk control. Experience in business transformation and first line of defense front office experience would be an advantage.

Strong attentiveness to detail, with ability to work independently and under pressure

Strong analytical, problem solving and management reporting and presentation skills and able to critically evaluate information gathered from multiple sources and reconcile conflicts

Strong leadership and management skills with the ability to lead and guide the team for strategic management reporting as well as risk control governance.

Excellent communication, interpersonal and organization skills

Sound knowledge of application software and data-driven orientation

Proficiency in both English and Chinese, with fluency in Putonghua an advantage
