Head, Base Maintenance & Workshop (HBMW)

Reports To

Head, Maintenance Engineering

Role Purpose

To lead Base Maintenance & Workshop Department which consist of Hangar Production (Aircraft Checks / Aircraft Structure / Paint & Composite / NDT) ensuring all aircraft, components, tools and equipment maintenance are of quality, compliant and economical with emphasize on safety, cost and turnaround time.

Key Accountability

  • To institute a suitable organizational structure in Base Maintenance & Workshop Department, as well as establishing systems and processes within the department to ensure all activities are in compliance with regulatory and company’s requirements and quality standards
  • Responsible for developing and directing short and long terms plans and strategies to achieve quality, standard and on-time aircraft maintenance check turnaround time, and to achieve quality and on-time repair and overhaul of aircraft component, tools and equipment to support scheduled aircraft maintenance checks”
  • Responsible for the satisfactory completion and certification of all work required by contracted operators/customers in accordance with the work specification (Work
  • Order and approved MOE procedures).”
  • Ensure the availability of sufficient competent personnel to plan, perform, supervise, inspect and certify the work being performed. Safety Policy and Human
  • Factors are ensured to be implemented at all times.
  • Ensure that the organization’s procedures and standards are complied with when carrying out maintenance

Qualification & Experience

  • Holder of aircraft maintenance license acceptable to CAA Malaysia with 10 years experience as LAE and/or
  • Degree in comprehensive knowledge of aircraft and component maintenance management and familiarity with regulatory requirements with 5 years experience in managerial post

Skills & Knowledge

  • Highly motivated , good leadership, and able to mobilize and motivate work force.
  • Able to work under pressure whilst providing safe aircraft for frontlines services and high quality products.>
  • Good knowledge of aircraft maintenance regulatory requirements.
  • Able to work across various supporting departments to achieve targets.

Key Challenges

  • To develop EMD into a Planning Led Organisation, driving Production to reduce TAT & achieve greater Productivity, optimising Resource utilisation by directly influencing Working Practices.
  • To interface with Tech Services, SCM & Planning departments towards completing Base Maintenance Check requirements from the pre planning stage up to the issuance of the BMR/ Completion
