Job Description:
This position contributes to the Company’s success through leading the professional development and continuous learning for its Sales and Corporate teams. The incumbent is responsible for addressing the Company’s employee development needs and facilitating its training programs.
Summary Of Key Responsibilities
Talent Development and Leadership Strategy:
- Owns the enterprise-wide talent development strategy, partnering with HR and senior leadership to drive organizational capability, leadership pipeline, and employee engagement.
- Establishes and manages a leadership development framework, including career competency assessments, leadership and skills training, and career readiness programming.
- Facilitates or oversees the delivery of leadership workshops.
- Implements a coaching culture that enhances manager-employee relationships, fosters accountability, and supports high-performance team dynamics.
- Supports career development planning through Key Talent Development meetings to identify high-potential talent.
- Leads the integration and application of third-party leadership development tools and assessments, such as 360-degree assessments and manager simulations.
- Collaborates with internal stakeholders to address the learning and development needs of Corporate and Commercial functions.
- Identifies and monitors trends in learning and development, including adult learning theory, digital learning, and organizational effectiveness.
- Partners with senior leadership to coordinate support for employees seeking career opportunities within the Company and those who are not meeting performance expectations.
- Oversees a leadership development program that includes career competency assessments, leadership and competency training, and career readiness assessments to prepare employees in their career development.
- Implement a coaching culture to improve coaching relationships between managers and their reports.
- Collaborates with the Company’s Operations and Quality teams’ initiatives to develop, deliver, and evaluate effectiveness of site training for compliance-related topics such as Quality systems, annual GxP training, training policies, and procedures, audits, and inspections.
- Ensures that all training programs are consistent with, and in support of the Company’s legal, regulatory, corporate policies, HR policies, and compliance guidelines.
- Stays abreast of trends and tools in employee training, learning, and development through participation in professional industry associations, and actively working on own continuous learning plan.
- Champions a culture of continuous learning using a variety of delivery formats including eLearning, virtual classrooms, best practice videos, and newsletters.
Sales Training:
- Provides strategic oversight of all sales training initiatives by managing the Manager(s) of Sales Training and ensuring alignment with organizational priorities and compliance standards.
- Guides development of new hire training and ongoing skill-building programs created and delivered by the Manager(s) of Sales Training.
- Serves as senior sponsor and leader for training sessions at National Sales Meetings, POAs, and other key Commercial events.
- Oversees and directs the process for all communications with the Sales teams, ensuring clarity, consistency, and adherence to compliance standards.
- Leverages diverse delivery methods to include eLearning, virtual classrooms, live classrooms, best practice videos, newsletters, etc., to provide and promote ongoing learning and development.
- Stays abreast of the landscape and therapeutic focus by visiting customers periodically and observing account managers in action.
- Spends time in field with account managers and regional directors to learn about trends and opportunities with the disease state, drug, and business landscape.
- Collaborates with Sales Training Managers to identify advanced selling skills, negotiation, and account management courses, and continually monitors opportunities for innovation to enhance employee skills.
- Cross-functionally aligns with Medical, Marketing, Managed Markets, and Market Access for content with all mentioned programs.
Required Qualifications And Skills
- BS, with a focus in life sciences, business, organizational development, marketing. A master’s degree in Education, Business, or Human Resources is a plus.
- Certification in Talent Development (CPTD) or other talent development certification is a plus.
- Willingness to travel to visit field account management and transplant centers.
- At least 6 years’ relevant pharmaceutical industry experience in designing and implementing leadership development initiatives, learning solutions including classroom, online/on demand, social, and experiential learning for technical, product, and soft skills development, measurement, and reporting.
- Strong background in Learning Management Systems and instructional and curriculum design.
- In-depth knowledge of utilizing adult education techniques, with expertise in conducting training sessions.
- Superior written and verbal communication skills, with superior facilitation/presentation skills.
- Strong project management skills, with the ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment with shifting priorities.
- Strong computer skills, with literacy in new media, and experience integrating information and data from several applications. Advanced proficiency in MS Office Suite and any presentation tools.
Travel Requirements: Approximately 25% (national)
