Our client is a specialist Advisory and Restructuring firm that is hiring a Director Restructuring & Insolvency to start up their Melbourne practice. This is a unique opportunity for someone to build their career quickly, run a state office and ultimately progress to a partner role. Support will be provided for liquidator registration.

What you’ll do:

As a Director Restructuring & Insolvency, you will have the unique opportunity to establish our client’s presence in Melbourne. You will be responsible for managing the office, building on their existing network, and assisting with the operational and administrative management of restructuring and insolvency engagements. Your role will also involve applying your industry knowledge to anticipate, identify, and address issues relevant to the client’s business. Furthermore, you will play a crucial role in nurturing junior employees by coaching, mentoring, and delegating challenging work.

  • Manage the Melbourne office and be the face of the company in Melbourne.
  • Assist with management and quality control of projects (including financial management).
  • Apply industry and market knowledge to anticipate, identify and address issues relevant to the client’s business.
  • Assist with onboarding and developing competencies of junior employees by coaching, mentoring and delegating work of a challenging nature.
  • Build on existing client relationships and identify and develop new client relationships.
  • Provide quality service to clients.

What you bring:

The ideal candidate for this Director Restructuring & Insolvency position brings extensive experience within insolvency, restructuring or financial services. You possess strong business acumen along with excellent written and verbal communication skills. Your ability to deal with sensitive matters confidentially and tactfully sets you apart.

  • University Degree in Business or related subject.
  • At least 6 years’ experience in a similar role.
  • Chartered Accountants (CA) Australia & New Zealand membership (or international equivalent, nearing completion or have an interest to complete).
  • Demonstrated technical knowledge (ARITA Advanced Certificate or equivalent preferred).
  • Extensive prior relevant experience within insolvency, restructuring or financial services.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong business and commercial acumen.
  • Ability to deal with sensitive matters confidentially and tactfully.
  • Strong ability to work unsupervised.
