Job Details

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive cloud strategy aligned with organizational goals and product/architecture vision.
  • Lead and mentor teams across cloud engineering, DevOps, SRE, and cloud governance functions, fostering continuous improvement, innovation, and agile practices.
  • Oversee the design, deployment, and management of scalable, reliable, secure, and cost-effective cloud infrastructure.
  • Guide the development and implementation of cloud-based applications and services, promoting the use of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools and DevOps practices.
  • Monitor and manage cloud infrastructure for optimal performance, availability, and cost efficiency, implementing cost-saving measures.
  • Maintain cloud environments in compliance with industry standards, best practices, and regulatory requirements, ensuring robust security measures.
  • Conduct regular security audits, vulnerability assessments, and implement disaster recovery/business continuity plans.
  • Lead cloud migration and modernization initiatives for existing workloads and applications, collaborating with teams for successful execution.
  • Work closely with development, operations, security, and business teams to integrate cloud solutions, providing technical support and mentoring.
  • Promote knowledge sharing and training on cloud technologies and best practices across the organization.
  • Design and implement CI/CD pipelines focused on cost, security, quality, uptime, and reliability.
  • Embrace continuous improvement, documenting and refining cloud/DevOps practices, and facilitating team member onboarding and training.
  • Implement and manage monitoring tools and dashboards to enhance observability and streamline troubleshooting.
  • Ensure cloud environment compliance with InfoSec, business continuity, disaster recovery, and organizational governance.
  • Handle on-call duties, system troubleshooting, and maintenance as necessary.
  • Provide technical guidance on best practices, code reviews, design communication, and adherence to requirements.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or relevant experience.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in Cloud, DevOps, or related roles, with at least 5 years in a leadership position.
  • Proven experience in a senior cloud engineering or architecture role with expertise in one or more primary cloud service providers (AWS required, Azure preferred)
  • Deep understanding of cloud infrastructure services, networking, security, cloud governance best practices, and disaster recovery/business continuity principles.
  • Proficiency with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation), DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and related tools (e.g., Jenkins, Kubernetes, Docker).
  • Relevant cloud certifications are a big plus
  • Proven experience in enhancing service reliability and performance, blending software engineering with operations (SREs).
  • Strong background in automating deployment pipelines, managing infrastructure as code, and facilitating team collaboration (DevOps Engineers).
  • Expertise in designing cloud architectures, managing cloud resources, and ensuring security and compliance (Cloud Infrastructure Engineers).
  • Ability to balance development and operational stability, focusing on reliability metrics (SREs).
  • Demonstrated ability to enable rapid and reliable software releases through collaboration and automation (DevOps Engineers).
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills for complex cloud issues.
  • Ability to analyze system performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement optimizations.
  • Proficiency in cloud cost management, budget forecasting, and cost optimization.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder management skills with the ability to lead and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced, agile environment.
  • Experience in developing and implementing cloud governance policies, processes, and best practices.
  • Proactive approach to problem-solving, continuous improvement, and driving innovation.
  • Experience implementing best practices with Agile methodologies and DevOps / 12 Factor Application Methodologies.
  • Experience with SaaS preferred.
