About the Position
Reporting to the CEO, the Human Resources Director will lead and manage the HR function for Score Sports, overseeing operations both in the United States and Mexico. This role will be involved in developing and implementing HR policies and programs that align with the company’s objectives, ensuring compliance with local labor laws, overseeing talent acquisition, employee engagement, HR systems and fostering a positive and productive work environment for all locations. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of organizational culture, employee experience and operational efficiency at scale, and is comfortable working at the strategic level, while also being ‘hands-on’. This individual will be collaborative, working across all functions and at all levels from the Board to Production.
About You
- Minimum 10 years of progressive HR experience, with at least three years in a leadership role overseeing multi-country operations, particularly in the U.S. and Mexico
- Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business or related field; Master’s degree preferred. SHRM/ SPHR or related certification required
- Bilingual in English and Spanish (written and verbal) required
- In-depth experience of U.S. and Mexican labor laws and HR best practices
- Demonstrated success leading HR during periods of organizational change or transformation, ideally in a mid-market manufacturing/distribution environment. Apparel experience is a plus.
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively manage and develop teams across different locations
- Experience managing hourly and salaried workforces, with a culturally competent approach
- Expertise in compensation strategy, benefits design and HRIS best practices, implementation and optimization.
- Experience in implementing performance management and engagement survey tools. Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate data into actionable insights and inform business decisions. Familiarity with Lattice is a plus.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic HR Leadership: Develop and execute HR strategies that support the company’s goals and promote a unified culture across U.S. and Mexican operations.
- Executive Partnering: Act as a trusted advisor to the senior leadership team, supporting key functions in organizational design, workforce planning, talent development and functional leadership needs
- Culture and Engagement: Create initiatives that promote a positive, inclusive culture and measure engagement regularly.
- Total Rewards: Develop and manage competitive compensation, benefits and recognition programs. This includes overseeing salary structures, incentive plans and compensation benchmarking and ensuring compliance with labor laws and tax regulations in the U.S. and Mexico in collaboration with Finance and Legal
- HRIS Management: Optimize HR systems to enhance workflows and deliver actionable insights. This includes overseeing data management, system security and training
- Performance Management: Design, implement and lead a company-wide performance management process that aligns individual goals with organizational priorities. Foster a culture of continuous feedback, clear expectations and accountability to drive individual and team performance.
- Compensation and benefits: Design and manage competitive compensation structures and benefits programs to enhance employee satisfaction and retention.
- Policy Development and Compliance: Establish and enforce HR policies and procedures that comply with labor laws and regulations in both countries, ensuring consistent application across all teams.
- Talent Acquisition: Oversee recruitment processes to attract top talent, implement effective onboarding programs, and develop retention strategies to maintain a skilled and motivated workforce.
- Training and development: Identify training needs and oversee the development and delivery of learning and development programs to enhance employee skills and career progression
- Leadership & Team Management: Lead, mentor and develop the HR teams in the U.S. and Mexico to drive high performance and collaboration. Includes fostering a culture of inclusion, continuous improvement, accountability within the HR function.

Score Sports offers competitive pay and benefits. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, life insurance and 401K.
Base salary range is $165,000 – 180,000 depending on experience, plus bonus potential.
Note, this is an onsite role based in Irvine, CA with regular travel to Mexico required.
