Key Responsibilities for Director of Business Development (Construction):

  • Develop and execute comprehensive business development building and construction efforts to drive growth and expand market presence in the industrial, retail, restaurant, and multifamily construction sectors.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities, including potential clients, projects, and partnerships.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, industry partners, and stakeholders to enhance the company’s reputation and market position.
  • Lead and manage the business development team, providing guidance, support, and mentorship.
  • Collaborate with the in-house Design/Build department to create innovative and competitive project proposals.
  • Oversee the preparation of proposals, presentations, and other marketing materials to effectively communicate the company’s capabilities and value proposition.
  • Conduct market research and analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and competitive landscape.
  • Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and networking opportunities to promote the brand and generate leads.
  • Track and report on business development activities, goals, and outcomes to the executive team.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement within the business development team.

Profile

Director of Business Development (Construction) Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in business development, sales, or marketing within the construction industry.
  • Proven track record of successfully driving business growth and achieving sales targets.
  • Strong network of contacts within the industrial, retail, restaurant, and multifamily construction sectors.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to develop and implement effective business development plans.
