Position Details
The Office of the Dean, at the Carlson College of Veterinary Medicine is the administrative and student services office for the College. The individual holding this position is an integral member of the College, responsible for directing, developing, and managing professional student recruitment for the Carlson College of Veterinary Medicine. This position directs the admission process for the DVM program, with a full range of responsibilities including admissions, orientation, student recruitment, program planning, and advising. The incumbent provides strategic leadership and direction for professional student recruitment and admissions process.

- Master’s degree in College Student Services Administration, or closely related field.
- Two years of professional work experience in admissions, student services, student recruitment, or related work.
- Technological experience and demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
- Demonstrated experience with additional technology applications including Google Drive and database software.
- Ability to work independently and confidentially.
- Demonstrated experience in creating and conducting presentations and demonstrated ability in program planning and administration.
- Demonstrated excellent attention to detail.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, and experience in public speaking, including speaking to a variety of audiences from differing backgrounds and perspectives.
- Demonstrated ability to interpret and apply laws, rules, policies, procedures and other guidelines.
- Strong decision-making skills, including setting priorities against established criteria and managing multiple projects/activities/deadlines.
- A demonstrable commitment to promoting student success across a diverse student body with varying backgrounds and learning needs.
This position requires driving a university vehicle or a personal vehicle on behalf of the university; therefore, the incumbent must successfully complete a motor vehicle history check, possess and maintain a current, valid driver’s license in their state of residence, be determined to be position qualified and self-report convictions as per University Policy 05-030.
- Two+ years of experience specifically in student recruitment and college admissions activities.
- Experience with social media applications and other student information services platforms.
- Experience with Slate, Salesforce, or other CRM platforms.
- Knowledge and experience in basic statistical analysis.
- Budget management experience.
- Supervisory experience of student employees and/or full-time employees.
- Experience developing, implementing, and enforcing policies and procedures.
