Director – Indirect Tax

As a Director in Indirect Tax, you will be responsible for leading the Indirect Tax practice in Saudi Arabia and delivering high-quality indirect tax services to clients. You will manage a team of Indirect Tax professionals, and work closely with clients to provide strategic advice on indirect tax issues.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Client Management: You will manage key client relationships, providing strategic advice and support on complex indirect tax issues. You will also oversee the preparation and review of client deliverables to ensure that they are completed on time and to a high standard.
  2. Practice Management: You will lead the development of the Indirect Tax practice in Saudi Arabia, including developing thought leadership, implementing best practices, and participating in firm-wide initiatives.
  3. Team Management: You will manage and mentor a team of Senior Managers, Managers, and Consultants, providing guidance and support to help them develop their skills and knowledge. You will also be responsible for monitoring the performance of the team and ensuring that all team members meet their goals.
  4. Research and Analysis: You will lead the research and analysis of complex indirect tax issues that arise during client engagements. You will also help identify tax planning opportunities and provide recommendations to clients.
  5. Business Development: You will be responsible for developing new business opportunities and building relationships with prospective clients. You will also participate in proposals and presentations to clients.
  6. Risk Management: You will be responsible for managing risks associated with client engagements, including assessing and mitigating potential risks.
  7. Indirect Tax Compliance: You will oversee the preparation and review of VAT returns, tax invoices, and other indirect tax filings in accordance with the relevant tax regulations in Saudi Arabia. You will also ensure that all indirect tax compliance deadlines are met.
  8. Indirect Tax Advisory: You will oversee the preparation and review of advice shared with the company’s clients to ensure it abides with the relevant tax regulations in Saudi Arabia. You will also ensure that all indirect tax advisory deadlines are met.
  9. Skill Development: identify individual team members’ strengths and areas for improvement. Develop and implement training plans to enhance team members’ skills.
  10. Performance Management: Set clear performance expectations and goals for team members.

 

Requirements:

  1. Education: You should have a bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field. A master’s degree in tax or accounting is preferred.
  2. Certification: You should have a professional certification in accounting or tax (e.g. CPA, CMA, ACCA, CTA).
  3. Skills: You should have an entrepreneurial personality, strong leadership skills, strong analytical skills, be able to work independently as well as part of a team, have excellent attention to detail, and be able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously. You should also have strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  4. Experience: You should have at least 13-17 years of relevant experience in a tax or accounting firm, with at least 5-8 of those years in a leadership role.
  5. Language: Fluency in English is Mandatory and Arabic is highly preferable.
