About This Opportunity

Director Government & Policy Advocacy, Sweden will join a strengthened and dynamic Government & Policy Advocacy (GPA) team focused on enhancing Ericsson’s insight, access, and influence with governments and policymakers. Our policy issues are focused on our business interests – wide-ranging, critical to customers, and at the heart of progress for society. We strive to influence policy early in its development and seed new policy ideas that may be required to support our business strategy.

Reporting to the Senior Director of Government & Policy Advocacy, Sweden, the Director of Government & Policy Advocacy is responsible for developing and advocating for Ericsson policy initiatives in Sweden and globally and engaging with and building positive relationships with telecom regulators, government stakeholders and membership associations of which Ericsson is a member.

What You Will Do

  • Developing and advocating for Ericsson policy initiatives in Sweden and globally
  • Building and maintaining strong, effective, and long-term relations with key stakeholders, telecom regulators and high-level Government officials
  • Representing and organizing Ericsson externally towards GPA stakeholders, including studio visits, public speaking opportunities, relevant Joint Business Councils, trade organizations etc
  • The role is covering both Sweden as well as supporting Ericsson´s interest globally.

You will bring

  • A Bachelor’s degree is required. (e.g., Law, Political Science, International Relations, Public Policy, Technology, Science, Engineering).
  • 5 + years of broad experience in the ICT industry with substantial experience in digital policy in government or corporate public policy.
  • In-depth knowledge of the political system and the practicalities of policy and law making and political decision making.

Qualifications of the successful candidate:

Highly skilled in political analysis, strategy and tactics to position Ericsson in the political arena in a structured and trusted way.

Deep understanding of the policy making process, including the mechanics of legislative policymaking process and procedures and collaboration with other companies and trade groups.

Experience in working within Governments, regulatory bodies, companies, trade associations, or international organizations on public policy issues.

Highly effective oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills, including demonstrated ability to comfortably interact at all corporate and political levels; deliver factual, relevant and easily understandable talking points and other messaging; and persuasively deliver messaging to relevant audiences.

Maintain highest personal levels of ethical conduct, confidentiality, and integrity, with strongest professional reputation in the industry.

Ability to identify and understand key technology issues in legislative and regulatory proposals, understand business implications, and synthesize policy and advocacy documents for internal and external customers.
