Director, Data Technology

DoubleLine is seeking a proven, successful, hands-on technology leader to expand and lead all aspects of data and reporting technologies, specifically, in terms of solutions architecture, development, and operations. This person will work closely with the CTO and IT Management Team to further establish and grow a high performing, respected, and trusted IT department.

Job Functions

  • Establish a long-term data reporting architecture vision, strategy, and technical roadmap with a deep understanding of DoubleLine’s data pipelines across service providers and vendors.
  • Establish trust and confidence in data accuracy across the firm by ensuring high data quality, governance and traceability, as well as establishing adoption through education, training, and documentation.
  • Provide analysis and oversight of data needs for new business activities and system integrations, working closely with Database Development to ensure data accuracy.
  • Collaborate with the Head of Data Management, Risk Analytics, and Database Development to deliver high-quality data repositories (e.g., warehouse, lakehouse).
  • Deliver solutions for self-service reporting by utilizing curated data sets and models.
  • Utilize knowledge of data platforms (e.g., Snowflake, Databricks, Alteryx), cloud technologies, enterprise software, API integration, and UX solutions for reporting and dashboards.
  • Participate in quick proof-of-concepts of advanced analytics, predictive analytics, machine learning, scenario analysis, and historical regression testing where business value is confirmed.
  • Lead a team of 5-10 developers and analysts, ensuring best practices in all data technologies and operations.
  • Troubleshoot, solve problems and provide hands-on leadership during challenging periods.
  • Stay updated on new data technologies, industry trends, and technology trends to bring innovative ideas to the firm.

Qualifications

  • BS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Data Science, MIS, or related field.
  • Minimum 10 years working in technology, within the financial services industry (preferably asset management) and at least 5 years leading significant data projects.
  • Experience with fixed income investments.
  • Proven track record in defining and establishing enterprise data management strategies and implementing data solutions and technology platforms.
  • Proficient with SQL and data analysis tools.
  • Proficient in multi-stakeholder relationship management.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.

Base Salary Range

The estimated base salary range for this position is $175,000 – $200,000. In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, plus a comprehensive benefits package.
