The Opportunity
P&G is searching for a leader to join our Information Security team as the Director of Data Protection. The Data Protection director manages and governs the data protection domain at P&G. This includes key contributions to our data protection strategy, the design and governance of preventative controls or safeguards related to loss avoidance, and supervision of the engineering teams running both proactive compensating controls.
This leader will collaborate with management, business partners, and subject matter experts to elicit and understand business needs and value, translating into a vision, roadmap, and action plan.
Key Responsibilities:
- Drive the continuous improvement of data protection processes, technologies, and best practices to enhance the company’s overall security posture.
- Define strategies within area of Data Protection; help frame strategies at a higher organization level and drive their cascade and execution within their organization.
- Proactively identify, govern, and lead developments and selection of new ideas, techniques, procedures, services, or products to protect P&G’s data.
- Influence architectural principles, policies, standards, and best practices from the Data Protection lens.
- Leading 12 people focused on DLP Engineering and Monitoring in the Data Protection organization within information security, including 3rd party staffing.
- Manage and coordinate cross-functional teams and stakeholders to ensure successful implementation of data loss avoidance and integration of DLP solutions.
- Stay up to date with industry trends and drive the community of practice and upskilling programs to continuous learning and innovation in the data protection domain.2

- Can demonstrate the ability to effectively balance business risks and with overall risk management.
Job Qualifications
Required:
- 10+ years of proven experience within IT, with at least 2+ years at a senior level leading IT teams.
- 3+ years of experience with a Data Loss Prevention (DLP) system OR similar pattern-matching technologies, including but not limited to experience managing policies with one or more of the following:
- Network Proxies.
- Intrusion Prevention/Detection Systems (IPS/IDS).
- Web Application Firewalls (WAF).
- Deep Packet Inspection (DPI).
- Malware Detonation Systems or other technologies using YARA rules.
- Experience developing styles and strategies that promote the avoidance of data loss and intrusions.
- Familiar enough with Technology/Security Operations and Regular Expression (RegEx) to guide and upskill the team.
Preferred:
- 5+ years in Information Security or Cyber Security
- Familiarity with unstructured data transformation to create alerting in Security Information/Event & Management (SIEM) or and other logging technologies.
- Proficient in technology operations – incident, problem, and change management with ITIL certification.
- Experience with Digital Rights Management (DRM).
- Familiarity with Perl-Compatible Regular Expression (PCRE) and RE2.
