Job Summary

The Head of Data Engineering and MLOps will lead the strategic design, implementation, and optimization of the bank’s data engineering and machine learning (ML) operations framework. This leader will be responsible for developing scalable data pipelines, ensuring data quality and governance, automating workflows, streamlining processes, and productionalizing ML models efficiently and securely. The role requires deep expertise in data infrastructure, cloud computing, DevOps methodologies, and ML lifecycle management. By optimizing data and ML operations, this role will enhance decision-making, improve operational efficiency, and ensure regulatory compliance within the organization

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute the data engineering and MLOps strategy in alignment with the bank’s digital transformation and business objectives, driving innovation and competitive advantage
  • Work closely with data scientists, software engineers, product managers, and business leaders to enable data-driven decision-making, fostering alignment between technical and business objectives
  • Partner with Data Architects and Enterprise Architects to ensure cohesive data strategies, scalable architectures, and seamless integration of data solutions within the bank’s broader IT ecosystem.
  • Design, build, and maintain a robust, scalable, and secure data engineering and MLOps platform that serves as a central resource for data scientists, ML engineers, and software engineers. This platform will support analytics, AI/ML, and business intelligence initiatives by providing seamless access to data and tools for model development, deployment, monitoring, versioning, performance optimization, and productionalization, thereby accelerating time-to-market for AI-driven solutions.
  • Build and mentor a high-performing data engineering and MLOps team, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and excellence. Ensure the team develops expertise in key areas such as infrastructure as code, processing unstructured data, and creating reusable software components, thereby enhancing overall organizational agility.

Our Ideal Candidate

Skills & Experience

  • 10+ years of relevant working experience
  • Success delivering GenAI products in regulated industries
  • Experience scaling AI platforms with measurable impact, AI governance, and cybersecurity
  • Proven experience delivering software products to the enterprise / SaaS product launches
  • Proven team-building and stakeholder communication skills
  • Multinational and executive-level stakeholder management

Qualification

Relevant Degree qualification preferred.
