Description
We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Director – Corporate Controller in Omaha, Nebraska, United States. This role is integral to the financial operations of our nonprofit organization. You will be responsible for overseeing financial reporting, maintaining internal controls, and ensuring compliance with nonprofit accounting principles and regulations.
Responsibilities
- Oversee financial policies, procedures, and controls to ensure fiscal health and operational efficiency.
- Contribute financial insights and recommendations for organizational decision-making as a strategic advisor to the executive team.
- Prepare consolidated financial statements in compliance with US GAAP and nonprofit accounting standards (FASB).
- Ensure accurate and transparent financial reporting to key stakeholders, including leadership, board members, and regulatory agencies.
- Manage compliance with federal and state regulations applicable to nonprofit organizations.
- Oversee external audits and ensure all financial documents meet audit standards.
- Collaborate with program and development teams for proper accounting of restricted funds and grant-related activities.
- Monitor grant budgets and ensure compliance with reporting requirements for funding sources.
- Design and maintain systems of internal controls to safeguard assets and mitigate risks.
- Lead and develop a high-performing finance and accounting team, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement within the team.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in a similar role
- CPA preferred
- Proven experience in Auditing
- Competency in managing Balance Sheet Account
- Knowledge of Budget Processes
- Experience in Financial Statement Preparation
- Ability to handle Financial Reporting
- Experience in conducting Annual Internal Audit
- Experience in Board Presentations
- Proven management skills in an accounting setting
