How will I help?

The Finance Program Manager will be accountable for developing and maintaining the Finance Transformation Portfolio Delivery Roadmap to ensure the portfolio investment alocations are driving value aligned to finance strategic priorities. The Finance Program Manager will be accountable for delivery planning and execution of Group Finance led initiatives within the Finance portfolio.

The Finance Transformation Portfolio Management team manage the finance investment portfolio and the engagement into the Group Transformation Office on the funding needs to meet finance strategic objectives and input into the board strategy review and quarterly business review. The team work with finance (strategy), architecture, technology and other stakeholders to assess potential investment opportunities and evaluating the financial viability of various projects. We perform feasibility assessments, cost-benefit assessments, estimate investment returns, and determine how best to distribute investment across various initiatives. The Finance Program Manager will develop the delivery approach, delivery plans, business cases, and other SDLC deliverables to ensure Finance achieve all committed business outcomes.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Engage, inform, influence and negotiate with stakeholders, particularly the service delivery teams who will be responsible for the technology services after program completion, and key business stakeholders (as required by the Sponsor and Steering Committee) to ensure stakeholders remain engaged and committed throughout the program.
  • Direct the identification, monitoring, reporting and escalation of risks and issues and/or problems associated with services and/or delivery in the project, including challenging and influencing the Sponsor and Steering Committee, business clients and stakeholders as required to enable the achievement of program deliverables and benefits. Raise risks at WBC group level when required.
  • Comply with the group governance processes, to ensure stakeholders have a clear understanding of their role in delivery and that the required decision making and escalation processes are in place to help achieve the required outcome.
  • Ensure adherence to enterprise methodologies and processes, such as the Program Execution Framework (PgEF), Project Execution Framework methodology (PEFm), Agile Execution Framework (AEF) and Solution Engineering Lifecycle (SELC) and provide input to develop and improve such methodologies and processes, to meet best practice and ensure regulatory and legal compliance of all work on the program.
  • Define the scope to ensure outcomes and expected benefits are clearly articulated and that agreed work is aligned to the strategy, including:
  • Translate business needs into a clear and measurable program of work which is aligned to the broader strategy
  • Influence and gain agreement of scope from stakeholders
  • Review and revise scope in light of any new information and/or changes to initial assumptions, including implications for project time, cost, quality and risk

What do I need?

  • 10+ years experience within projects / programs with (minimum 3 years at Program Manager)
  • 5+ years working in a large and complex organisation
  • 5+ years experience in the financial services industry
  • Demonstrated ability to understand the differing business practices that exist within a large organisation
  • Contributing to internal and external professional communities
  • Management of diverse stakeholder expectations, across different business divisions in partnership with senior stakeholders to assist in the delivery of business strategies and objectives program which drives transformational changes
  • CA/ CPA qualified
