Director

The Director of Marketing/Communications is responsible for developing, implementing, measuring and optimizing integrated marketing strategies to align with the business objectives of Willis Knighton Heath and all owned properties. The director ensures effective use of marketing, communications resources and channels to deliver communications that contribute to the growth and success of the organization.

The director counsels with Administration and department executives throughout the organization to identify strategies to build brand awareness and image, using appropriate channels to drive consumers to services offered by Willis Knighton Health.

Activities include research, budgeting, planning, management, and evaluation as well as placement of advertising across all marketing initiatives.

Duties and activities listed below are typical of the job; however, the Director of Marketing/Communications may be required to perform other related duties and activities at the discretion of Administration.

Representative Duties and Tasks

  • Review, analyze, develop, implement and monitor strategies and tactics through all integrated marketing and communications channels
  • Oversee brand management and image for owned properties
  • Employ and supervise department staff, assuring appropriate staffing levels and efficient use of resources
  • Manage relationships with vendors
  • Direct work of marketing/communications agencies/vendors
  • Consult and advise departments regarding communications and channels
  • Consult and advise physician clinics regarding communications and channels
  • Provide guidance to Marketing department’s managers regarding marketing, communications and operations of the department
  • Monitor and update department policies and procedures
  • Provide Administration communications support
  • Maintain signage standards and provide oversight for signage development
  • Direct activities of Document Center (third party vendor)
  • Direct activities of Talbot Medical Museum
  • Serve as hospital spokesperson as requested
  • Serve as department representative on hospital committees as required
  • Serve as department representative at community events as requested
  • Provide communications support to contributions committee
  • Perform related duties as assigned by Administration
  • Comply with the policies and procedures of Willis-Knighton Health Code of Conduct.

Requirements & Qualifications:

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, or related field (required)
  • Master’s degree in related field (preferred)

Experience:

  • 10 years’ experience in Marketing, Communications or related field (required)
  • 5 years’ experience in hospital setting (preferred)
  • Broad knowledge of media, advertising, public relations, research and related resources
  • Strong written and verbal skills
  • Demonstrated management and budgeting skills
