Digital Design Director

The Digital Design Director will be responsible for defining and executing the digital design strategy across all online platforms, ensuring the creation of visually captivating, high-converting digital assets. This role is pivotal in crafting seamless, innovative user experiences that reflect the brand’s identity while driving business objectives. Working closely with cross-functional teams—including brand marketing, digital merchandising, product, and development—the Digital Design Director will lead efforts to develop graphics, motion-based assets, homepage and landing page wireframes, email templates, and dynamic ad content. You will also be responsible for concepting and designing engaging, high-impact content that enhances the digital experience and aligns with our brand identity. This role requires a balance of editorial vision and performance-driven design expertise.

This is a Los Angeles based position. You MUST be in LA or willing to move.

Key Responsibilities

  • Concept and design visually compelling editorial campaigns that drive engagement and conversion.
  • Oversee e-commerce photoshoots, ensuring high-quality imagery that aligns with brand aesthetics and enhances the online shopping experience.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration, Partner with e-comm, brand marketing, and analytics teams to ensure cohesive execution of digital initiatives across all platforms.
  • Stay Close with Digital Team (e.g., UX designers, developers, and content strategists) to bring creative concepts to life in a dynamic and user-friendly way.
  • Maintain brand consistency across all digital touchpoints while innovating on creative direction.
  • Analyze creative performance, leveraging insights to refine design strategies for improved engagement and sales.
  • Stay ahead of industry trends to push creative boundaries and elevate the brand’s digital presence.
  • Homepage & Landing Page Wireframing, Design and wireframe unique homepage and landing page layouts that are CMS-compatible, incorporating motion and editorial elements to elevate the brand experience.
  • Email Campaigns & CRM Lifestyle Flows: Oversee the design of visually compelling email templates and assets for CRM lifecycle campaigns, working closely with the CRM team to support flow series creation.
  • Loyalty & Lifecycle Program Assets: Collaborate with the loyalty program team to develop creative assets for loyalty initiatives, enhancing customer engagement and retention.
  • Performance Optimization, Work cross-functionally with performance/e-comm team and use their metrics to refine designs to improve results continuously.
  • Team Leadership, Manage and mentor a team of designers, fostering a culture of creativity, innovation, and collaboration.

Experience

7+ years in digital design, with at least 3 years in a leadership role; experience in e-commerce, fashion, or lifestyle brands preferred.

Technical Skills

Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite, Figma, Sketch, After Effects, and prototyping tools. Familiarity with CMS platforms like Sanity and Contentful is a plus, not a requirement.

Analytical Expertise

Strong understanding of digital performance metrics, with experience leveraging data to drive design decisions.

Creativity & Editorial Vision

Proven ability to merge creative storytelling with performance goals, delivering innovative yet practical designs.

Leadership Skills

Experience managing and mentoring design teams, with a focus on collaboration and professional development.

Future Creative Initiatives

Motion-based homepage and landing page experiences for tentpole campaigns.

Development of CRM lifecycle flows requiring monthly asset creation.

Expanded focus on loyalty program assets, enhancing member engagement.

Increased production of PDP videos to leverage their strong performance in driving conversions.

$150,000.00 – $170,000.00 a year
