POSITION SUMMARY: The Controller manages the day-to-day financial operations of the organization and ensures accurate financial reporting. Schedule: Monday-Friday 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM. 40+ hours per week. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Essential functions include but are not limited to the following: Oversees accounting functions (accounts payable, accounts receivable); applies accounting principles and understands the impact. Ensures compliance with all federal, state and local regulations related to financial reporting. Prepares financial statements and reports. Develops and maintains financial dashboards to track key performance indicators. Manages the general ledger and ensures accuracy. Manage month-end close. Implements internal controls and financial policies. Manages the external audit process. Oversees determination of depreciation rates to apply to capital assets. Establishes and maintains effective internal controls to safeguard the organization’s assets. Conducts regular audits of financial processes and recommends improvements as necessary. Supervises the finance and accounting team Other duties as assigned QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS Bachelor’s degree in accounting; CPA preferred. At least 5 years of progressively responsible experience in financial management, and non-profit organization experience is preferred. Strong knowledge of non-profit accounting principles and regulations. Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel. Navision preferred. Ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders and maintain a strong commitment to the organization’s mission.
