Chief Landscaper

A company is looking for a highly skilled and experienced Chief Landscaper with expertise in designing and leading landscape projects for mega developments in the Gulf and Arabian region.

 

The company is a multidisciplinary architecture and engineering firm based in Saudi Arabia, founded in 2004. With over three decades of experience, The company is specialized in architectural design, urban planning, heritage rehabilitation, and engineering services, offering comprehensive solutions to both public and private sector clients.

 

They are committed to fostering intellectual dialogue and innovation within the architectural community, aiming to advance contemporary Saudi architecture through collaborative and thoughtful design practices.

 

 

Posizione:

In this role, you will be responsible for conceptualizing and delivering innovative, sustainable, and contextually appropriate landscape designs for large-scale commercial, residential, and urban development projects. Your leadership will ensure that these projects integrate seamlessly with the built environment, enhance the aesthetic appeal, and contribute to the cultural and environmental sustainability of the region.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Landscape Design Leadership: Lead the landscape design process for major projects, from initial concepts to final execution. Ensure that designs are functional, visually striking, and meet the aesthetic and environmental needs of the project.
  • Project Oversight and Execution: Oversee all phases of landscape architecture, including site analysis, planning, design, and implementation. Ensure that all landscape designs align with the vision of the project and comply with local regulations and sustainability standards.
  • Sustainability Integration: Integrate sustainable design solutions, including the use of drought-resistant plants, efficient irrigation systems, and water conservation practices, ensuring that landscapes are resilient to the region’s harsh climate and environmental conditions.
  • Collaboration and Coordination: Work closely with architects, urban planners, civil engineers, and contractors to ensure seamless integration of landscape designs with other project elements. Coordinate with various teams to meet timelines, budgets, and quality expectations.
  • Cultural and Environmental Sensitivity: Develop landscape designs that reflect the cultural heritage and traditions of the Gulf and Arabian region, while addressing the region’s unique environmental challenges such as high temperatures, arid conditions, and limited water resources.
  • Team Management: Lead a team of landscape architects, designers, horticulturists, and technicians. Provide mentorship and guidance to junior team members while fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment.
  • Client Relations: Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, offering expert advice, presenting design concepts, and ensuring that the client’s vision and objectives are achieved. Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders and government entities.
  • Quality Control and Compliance: Ensure that all landscaping projects meet high-quality standards, are built to specification, and comply with local regulations and environmental guidelines. Conduct site visits to monitor the progress and quality of landscape installations.
  • Budget and Resource Management: Oversee the budget and resource allocation for landscape design and implementation, ensuring cost-effective solutions and adherence to project budgets. Manage procurement of plants, materials, and equipment.

 


Requisiti:

Must Have:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Landscape Architecture, Horticulture, or related field (Master’s degree preferred).
  • 10 years of experience in landscape architecture and master planning, with a focus on mega projects in the Gulf and Arabian region, such as parks, cities, and corniche developments.
  • Expertise in landscape design software (AutoCAD, SketchUp, Rhino, Adobe Creative Suite, etc.).
  • Experience in managing budgets, timelines, and resources for complex projects.
  • Fluent in English. Fluency in other languages will be considered a plus.

 

Preferred Skills:

 

  • Experience in creating smart, sustainable urban green spaces (e.g., green roofs, smart irrigation, integrated urban agriculture).
  • Knowledge of new and emerging trends in landscape design, such as biophilic design or ecological restoration.
  • Previous experience in working with international clients and multi-disciplinary teams.
