Position Description
The Chief Development Officer is responsible for planning, organizing, and directing all Traffick911’s
revenue generation, marketing, and communications. Under the direction of the Chief Executive Officer,
the Chief Development Officer oversees major gifts, grants, special events, donor cultivation, and capital
campaigns by building a diversified fundraising portfolio and fostering and maintaining positive
relationships with stakeholders. The Chief Development Officer must be able to think strategically and
practically to implement a comprehensive and results-oriented development plan that includes traditional
and innovative strategies while effectively communicating organizational plans and priorities derived from
Traffick911’s strategic plan as part of the executive leadership team.
Major Areas of Responsibility
Fundraising and Advancement
- Strategize and manage fundraising and donor stewardship programs across the organization.
- Develop, establish, and implement the fundraising infrastructure needed to advance the
organization with existing and new stakeholders.
- Grow major gifts through identification, cultivation, and solicitation of major donors.
- Manage a portfolio of top donors by implementing personalized strategies, maintaining regular
communication, and providing personalized acknowledgements.
- Develop and ensure execution of donor stewardship communication plan
- Oversee all grant writing initiatives and manage all secured grants including grant reporting
- Collaborate closely with program support team on front and back ends of grants to ensure
alignment
- Secure restricted and unrestricted funding by identifying grant opportunities, preparing
proposals, and managing foundations relationships.
- Oversee fundraising databases and ensure accurate and up-to-date records are maintained to
support effective communication and stewardship.
- Regularly analyze fundraising data and maintain data integrity across organization systems
alongside the Finance Manager.
Mission Engagement
- Oversee all external events for the organization including fundraising, partner appreciation,
volunteer and community outreach.
- Collaborate within the anti-trafficking movement to develop comprehensive community
engagement strategies, strengthen awareness efforts, and maximize the organizations impact.
- Act as an ambassador for the organization through public appearances and speaking
engagements.
- Solicit new supporters through outreach strategies and community engagement that aligns with
the organizations fundraising goals.
- Oversee volunteer program including recruitment, screening, training, and communication
Communications
- Implement a comprehensive marketing and communications strategy that advances the
organizations mission.
- Lead the advancement of all external communications and brand management through social
media, email marketing, direct mail, print, and web.
- Strategize fundraising print and digital assets for maximum impact and engagement.
- Stay up to date with the latest sex trafficking news, events, and best practices in the field as it
relates to ethically communicating on the topic of sex trafficking and act as a subject matter
expert in this area.
Additional Responsibilities
- Serve on the executive leadership team, providing wide-lens feedback, insight, and
recommendations for the organization.
- Supervise development and marketing staff.
- Enhance organization excellence by meeting fundraising benchmarks and timelines needed to
achieve strategic goals.

Education Experience
- Minimum of ten years in non-profit fundraising and communication, including leading teams
- Proven track record of fundraising success, particularly by securing major gifts,
successfully managing campaigns, engaging a community of motivated supporters,
and achieving fundraising goals/objectives
- Experience overseeing grant writing and grant reporting
- Experience with developing and maintaining foundation relationships
- Experience in public speaking
- Experience working within donor databases/CRM

Physical Demands
Job will be performed in Traffick911’s office in Addison, TX as well as traveling to various counties
surrounding Dallas/Fort Worth. Reasonable accommodation can be made to enable people with

Traffick911 exists with the sole purpose of freeing youth from sex trafficking by building trust-based relationships. This is accomplished by a 24/7 crisis response and the Voice & Choice Program Team walking alongside child sex trafficking victims and with Multi-Disciplinary Team partners. Traffick911 was founded in 2009 by a community activist who discovered that child sex trafficking was happening in North Texas. Over its history, the organization’s abolition efforts include training over 82,000 youth and adults face-to-face with prevention and awareness messages, training over 18,000 first responders, and directly serving over 1,300 survivors.
