The Associate Director of Voter Registration will support the Director of Voter Registration and play a crucial role in overseeing the voter registration process and ensuring compliance with the Texas Election Code. The ideal candidate will drive strategic initiatives to meet critical deadlines, serve as a liaison to the County Clerk’s Office and other election entities, and manage a diverse team, including seasonal employees. Additionally, this position will identify challenges facing constituents and develop effective communication strategies to foster productive solutions.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Ensure compliance with federal laws and the Texas Election Code regarding voter registration deadlines and processes.
- Monitor the department’s workload capacity to ensure all deadlines for an election cycle are met.
- Drive strategic initiatives to meet critical deadlines and enhance voter registration efficiency.
- Coordinate with the County Clerk’s office and external jurisdictional districts on all election responsibilities.
- Oversee the daily operations of staff in all areas of voter registration, including data entry, record maintenance, and verification processes, while providing support as needed.
- Work closely with the Compliance Division to fulfill Open Records Requests for voter registration information.
- Maintain and manage inventory on-site and at the distribution center, reordering supplies from vendors as needed.
- Collaborate with procurement on vendor contracts, renewals, and scheduled mailings of voter certificates/notices, ensuring adequate postage is available.
- Monitor policies and regulations changes to ensure staff compliance.
- Clearly and consistently communicate community needs to the Director of Voter Registration through weekly reports, proposals, and memos as needed.
- Use and maintain a data-driven reporting matrix to accurately track successes and identify areas for improvement.
- Monitors and analyzes voter registration data to identify trends and improve processes.

Education And Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Political Science, Public Administration, Communications, or a related field. Relevant experience may substitute for the required education.
- At least 5 years of experience in voter registration, political organizing, or community outreach.
- Proven experience managing staff and coordinating large-scale programs.
- Strong understanding of local, state, and federal voter registration laws and regulations.
- Proven track record of working with diverse communities and stakeholders.
Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities
- Thorough understanding of voter registration laws and procedures.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Strong organizational and project management skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, data management software, and voter registration tools.
