Strategy Principal Consultant

Shape the Strategy. Guide the Story. Drive the Outcome.

At UDig, strategy starts with listening—deeply understanding context, needs, and goals—then moving quickly to shape and test solutions. As a Principal Consultant, you’ll work directly with clients to uncover insight, rapidly iterate business and technology strategies, and help teams move forward with clarity and confidence.

You’ll be part of a strategy team grounded in service blueprinting and focused on enabling clients to adopt solutions that are adopted, used, and provide real business impact. This is a role for someone who leads with curiosity, translates listening into action, and drives strategy all the way through to execution.

We believe great consultants are grounded in curiosity, clarity, and confidence. You’ll get the trust, autonomy, and support you need to do your best work—while helping others do the same.

What You’ll Do

You’ll lead with insight, structure, and a focus on real impact. You will:

  • Frame the right problem. Lead research and discovery efforts that uncover client needs and surface strategic clarity.
  • Build trust early. Support pre-sales and early-stage conversations with sharp thinking, strong presence, and simple solutions.
  • Guide to clarity. Facilitate workshops and working sessions across disciplines, guiding momentum even in ambiguity.
  • Make ideas actionable. Excellence in storytelling is critical to turning strategy into decisions and helping teams move forward with clarity and confidence.
  • Grow re-usable assets. Help evolve UDig’s strategy frameworks, toolkits, and accelerators to scale what works.
  • Bridge disciplines. Work seamlessly with engineers, designers, analysts, and business leaders to align execution with intent.
  • Be a trusted partner. Show up as a confident, thoughtful voice clients rely on—not just for strategy, but for how to act on it.

What You Bring

You’re a strategic consultant who balances insight with execution, and creativity with clarity. You bring:

  • 8–12+ years of experience in consulting, strategy, product, or solution design—ideally with a mix of client-facing leadership, cross-functional delivery, and measurable business impact.
  • A track record of delivering real results and measurable impact in enterprise or complex settings.
  • Strong problem-solving instincts—you thrive in ambiguity and can break down big challenges into structured paths forward.
  • Proven ability to facilitate cross-functional teams and executive conversations with confidence and presence.
  • A natural communicator—you listen, simplify complexity and tell stories that align teams and inspire action.
  • Pre-sales experience, from shaping opportunities to developing proposals and building credibility in early conversations.
  • A consulting mindset—you’re proactive, collaborative, and trusted to deliver.
  • A growth mindset—you ask thoughtful questions, raise the bar, and always look for what’s next.
  • Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in Business, Design, Engineering, or a related field. An MBA or other advanced degree is a plus, especially for candidates with a strong focus on strategic planning, research, or human-centered design. Equivalent consulting experience and a proven track record of shaping strategy and delivering client impact will also be considered.

What Catches Our Eye

  • You’ve worked across business, design, and technical teams—and know how to translate between them.
  • You bring visual and written storytelling skills—comfortable with tools like PowerPoint, Miro, Figma, or similar.
  • You view results as your responsibility and take ownership of guiding clients toward them.
  • You’re curious, thoughtful, and always thinking a step ahead.
