Head of Legal and Compliance

Position Overview
This critical role involves overseeing the legal and compliance functions for our operations, focusing on fund formation, structuring, and regulatory adherence. The ideal candidate will bring a robust legal background, preferably from a top-tier law firm, with strong expertise in UAE, DIFC, and Cayman Islands frameworks.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage all legal and compliance matters for the company.
  • Draft and review fund formation documents, agreements, and contracts with a strong understanding of structuring.
  • Ensure regulatory compliance with DIFC, ADGM, DFSA, and other relevant frameworks.
  • Provide expert legal advice for the UAE market while aligning with international standards.
  • Liaise with external counsel and regulatory authorities as required.
  • Actively support the business in its strategic objectives by providing legal insights and solutions.
  • Develop and maintain policies and procedures to uphold regulatory and legal compliance.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 10 years of legal experience.
  • UK-qualified lawyer with a strong academic and professional background.
  • Significant experience in the Middle East region, particularly with UAE market dynamics.
  • Proven leadership skills with the ability to manage teams and oversee complex projects.
  • Strong client management skills, including the ability to build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Preference for candidates already based in the UAE or with a willingness to relocate independently.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively across teams.
