Job Summary
The Supervising Electric Distribution Controller (EDC) is responsible for ensuring customers receive safe reliable electric and gas service through direct oversight of Gas and Electric Distribution Operations (GEDO) activities. They oversee that customers are provided accurate and timely information regarding construction and restoration activities. The Supervising EDC assures that the status of the distribution system is accurately reported to Company Management and takes corrective action measures if necessary. This position could directly supervises a variety of occupations (i.e. electric distribution controllers, system operations dispatchers, gas and electric dispatchers, GIS specialists and senior service managers) and participates in a 24×7 floor management rotation.
Job Responsibilities
- Manages performance by establishing communication expectations, reviewing and evaluating work, and coaching
- Develops operating procedures to document key processes
- Reviews system outages requests to evaluate and mitigate the risk to customers and system integrity
- Fosters an environment of teamwork, creativity and problem solving. Encourages participation in decision making
- Interacts effectively with peers, Call Center, Media Relations, Senior Company Management, and Field Operations employees to meet Business Unit goals and information needs
- Maintains an awareness of weather conditions and determines the potential impact on the distribution system
- Disseminates information appropriately and modifies GEDO staffing plans as required
- Initiates mobilization of field resources during escalated events adversely affecting the distribution system
- Coordinates planned work across the operating areas to support construction and maintenance activities as well as to achieve on time switching commitments
- Manage planning and design for the OMS/ADMS system including system performance, capacity monitoring, reporting, and implementation of major upgrades
- Participate with IT on research and development planning for future outage management systems to ensure alignment with the business unit strategic plan
- Troubleshoot outage management operational issues and provide direction and feedback to IT to resolve technical issues
- Administer and ensure timely data updates from the GIS maintenance data base to the production data base for all applications

Minimum Qualifications
- High School Diploma, HSED, GED
- A minimum of 5 years work experience in electric and/or gas utility engineering, construction, and operations or relevant control center experience. In lieu of electric/gas utility experience, 5 years leadership experience with direct reports will be considered
- Strong communication skills (i.e. verbal & written)
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelors degree
- Demonstrate sound technical knowledge of the electrical and/or gas distribution systems
- Prior leadership experience (i.e. team building and project management)

Pay Range Minimum: $101,743.46
Pay Range Maximum: $152,615.06
The pay range reflects the minimum and maximum for the position at the time of posting and may be modified in the future. The starting salary/pay within the pay range will be based on several factors, as applicable, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, shift, travel requirements, collective bargaining agreements, and business and organizational needs. At WEC Energy Group, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role.
