Your Role:

The Head of Product for APAC is tasked with setting the product strategy for the region, leading product development and execution for all locally registered products and traditional asset classes – and supporting product development for private markets and digital assets.

A primary goal of this role is to systematically bring together the Invesco strategy, the Invesco market view, client demand to align on focus areas. You will be expected to manage and contribute to the development of solutions across the entire product lifecycle, working on strategy, product launches, product changes, significant client-driven events and broader product-related initiatives such as pricing, suitability and viability reviews and product closures. You’ll be asked to collaborate with colleagues throughout Europe, APAC and the Americas and within the broader global product team, and to be the voice of global Product organization in APAC representing the team’s view in local matters and helping bring a regional perspective to global decisions and projects.

Key Responsibilities / Duties:

  • Lead regional product team across all asset classes, investment styles and product; manage regional team as a unit including acting as a culture carrier, prioritizing team building for all product staff in the region
  • Partner across distribution and investment management on all activities
  • Ability to manage to a budget and employ cost discipline
  • Member of the regional management committee (AMAC)
  • Lead functions across the product value chain including
  • Product strategy
  • Develop and implement regional strategy
  • Provide regional input as it relates to prioritization of seed capital
  • Product development
  • Create and manage regional product roadmap; provide transparency to key stakeholders
  • Drive ideation/innovation for new product concepts
  • Partner with key stakeholders in Investments & Distribution to establish business case for new products (define market opportunity, investment strategy, P&L impact etc.)
  • Lead development of products from concept through implementation including structuring and all internal governance; obtain all required regulatory approvals
  • Partner with key stakeholders across Legal, Compliance, Risk, Operations & Product Management to assess and plan for operational impacts
  • Provide input on pricing

  • Lead implementation and operational setup of new products
  • Implement changes to existing products
  • Lead/owner of ongoing responsibilities for products (including 15c, annual regulatory filings, prospectus updates / changes)
  • Provide fund raising support, where relevant
  • Commercialization of subject matter expertise (markets, product offering)
  • Ensure the feedback loop is seamless between Investments, Product & Distribution; incorporate input from all divisions into decisions for each pillar
  • Provide subject matter expertise to clients in partnership with distribution
  • Content creation including internal and external newsletters
  • Develop storyline and pitchbooks to support new product launches

Work Experience / Knowledge:

  • Undergraduate degree in business, finance or related discipline required.
  • 15+ years demonstrated investment experience either in product development, portfolio management or in an investment driven product management role.
  • Experience running product teams in complex regulatory environments, with a strong emphasis on best in-class governance standards.
  • Creativity and confidence working across various fund structures and multiple asset classes, being a trusted partner to investment teams, driving innovation, and adding value to ideas through data-based decisions and respectful, candid debate.
  • A client perspective and an ability to partner closely with distribution teams to help them serve their clients by delivering relevant, commercially sustainable, market-leading products.
  • Ability to work in robust risk and control frameworks, always thinking as a fiduciary and as a key partner to Second Line colleagues.

Skills / Other Personal Attributes Required:

  • Strong written communication and verbal presentation skills.
  • Experienced presenting at corporate, client, and industry functions in front of large audiences.
  • Team player with excellent interpersonal skills; must be able to establish and maintain effective, cooperative working relationships with all departments and organizational levels.
  • An ability to hire, motivate and develop staff, with a strong focus on valuing a diversity of perspectives and backgrounds, while creating an inclusive and equitable environment.
  • Optimism and a can-do attitude throughout your work; a proven ability to adapt to changing circumstances, priorities and timelines with confidence and good humor.

License/Registration/Certification:

  • CFA designation preferred
  • Series 7, 63, 24 required
