Leads the strategic programming and direction of the Workforce and Continuing Education department, which consists of Health Occupations, Occupational & Skilled Trades, Human Resources Development, Computer & Online Training, and the Barber Program. Supervises the coordination team, manages the prison programming and partnership, prepares, and monitors the department budget and works collaboratively with other members of the leadership team to support the efforts of the Vice President of Economic and Workforce Development & Continuing Education.

Duties
1. Leads the strategic development, planning, implementation and administration of goals and objectives for the Workforce Continuing Education department
2. Provides vision and leadership over the department of Workforce and Continuing Education.
3. Works with the Vice President to provide strategic management, support, and direction for departmental programming, compliance, and other initiatives.
4. Leads, maintains, and initiates new partnerships with all correctional facilities in Buncombe County and Madison County.
5 Develops and submits the annual Prison Education Plans required by NCDPS for each facility.
6. Works collaboratively with members of the VP’s leadership team on partnerships and programming.
7. Recruits, interviews, hires, trains, & supervises departmental staff and faculty; Provides orientation, monitors, & evaluates staff performance.
8. Supports and contributes to the College Vision, Mission, Values, and RISE statement.
9. Supports the community needs for job growth and new training.
10.Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements (Applicant must meet all of the minimum requirements)
1. Bachelor’s degree;
2.·Experience in a supervisory role;
3. Experience coordinating instructional or training programs;
4. Experience leading, working or contributing to a work team;
5. Three years of full-time or equivalent experience in training or program development in a business, industry or educational setting;
6. Experience developing new programs.

Preferred Qualifications
1. Master’s degree
2. Prior experience and program management leading continuing education programs within NCCCS.
3. Experience managing grant-funded programs.
4. Experience teaching adults.
5. Proficiency in a foreign language such as Spanish, an East Slavic language, and/or American Sign Language.

Total Compensation
Your total compensation goes beyond this maximum salary. Your A-B Tech benefits represent nearly 30% of your total compensation.

The total compensation for this position includes an 24.04% employer contribution to a defined pension plan, contributions towards medical and dental policies and fully funded life insurance / accidental death & dismemberment policy.

Total Compensation: 98,720 – 100,703
