Job Description:

Under the direction of a Medical Group Executive Director, the Practice Director provides effective leadership and creates a culture of accountability for Medical Group operations including excellence in patient and caregiver safety, quality assurance of care, patient experience, equity, patient access to care, financial stewardship, caregiver engagement, and growth.

As Practice Director, you will:

  • Be responsible for leading medical group operations for the assigned portfolio of clinics.

  • Develop and manage budgets for areas of responsibility, reviews and analyzes budget and other management reports.

  • Support the development of proposals and business cases that deliver on strategic imperatives.

  • Partner with other leaders to understand and respond to competitive threats in the market.

  • Provide guidance, support, and opportunities for growth and development to help individuals reach their full potential as leaders and other employees. This includes fostering a culture of mentorship, providing resources and training to enhance leadership skills, and actively supporting the professional growth and development of team members.

  • Maintain an operational knowledge of all organizational policies and procedures and ensures compliance with these.

  • Participate in relevant learning activities to keep abreast of current issues, trends, and research.

  • Inspire managers and staff to high standards of care while maintaining productivity ratios.

  • Demonstrate ability to influence direct and non-direct reports to meet Medical Group goals.

  • Accountable for KPI performance for portfolio using Intermountain model.

  • Demonstrate ability to influence direct and non-direct reports to meet Medical Group goals.

  • Partner to support physician and APP performance management and manage employee performance management.

  • Partner with physician, APP leadership and service lines to build and strengthen collaborative practices that meet community needs.

  • Partner with other leaders in physician and APP recruitment.

  • Have regional service line accountabilities in addition to operations.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in healthcare or another relevant field is required.

  • Three years progressive healthcare leadership or practice management experience.

  • Demonstrated effective communication and interpersonal relations skills.

  • Demonstrated strong computer skills, including proficiency in word-processing, spreadsheet, and advanced computer applications (i.e., database or presentations)

  • Master’s degree healthcare or a related field is preferred.

  • Ongoing need for employee to see and read information, documents, monitors, identify equipment and supplies, and be able to assess customer needs.
  • Frequent interactions with providers, colleagues, customers, patients/clients, and visitors that require employee to verbally communicate as well as hear and understand spoken information, needs, and issues quickly and accurately.
  • Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy. This includes frequent computer use for typing, accessing needed information, etc.

The hourly range for this position is listed below. Actual hourly rate dependent upon experience.

$57.75 – $89.14
